Chicago and Halloween

Wednesday night I had some girls from my college days (Yay UVSC) over. The girl, Amy, who usually coordinates our get togethers is currently serving a mission. And the fact we were able to plan and execute a get together makes me very proud! Ryan got the hot tub working so we were able to enjoy chocolate fondue and after we felt sufficiently fat we all got in our swimsuits to chill in the hot tub. Maybe we need to work on our logic for these get-togethers ;) Anyway- always a good time.. it was good to see everyone :)

We tried to mimic the picture from LAST year by memory... Obciously we were a little off :)

October 2007

Wednesday night Ryan and I also decided to fly into Chicago for the weekend. We had to leave Thursday morning and come back Sunday morning into SLC. Otherwise we would not have made the flights flying standby. To leave on Thursday morning was a last minute choice and I was a stress ball. After my friends left Ryan and I stayed up till midnight packing and trying to make sure we had everything for our first 'Family Vacation'
We got up at 5:30 am and headed over to the airport. I dressed Jayden up in his flying outfit:

We tried to get a picture in front of the plane.... but something about that window makes a camera go crazy!

HIS FIRST TIME IN A PLANE:

He was so good. I was really nervous since I knew it was going to be a long flight. We had to fly into California from SLC and from there to Chicago. He didn't fuss once. Which made Ryan and I really happy parents.
We stayed with my friends from High School. It was so good to see them again. It has been over three years. Since our wedding! We went to pumpkin fest. My hometown's annual festival. I hadn't been to Pumpkin Fest for over six years. It brought back great memories

When I was pregnant I really really wanted a funnel cake. I went to all the festivals in Utah I could find- But I ould never find find a funnel cake. After I had Jayden I STILL had the craving. I searched high and low in Illinois for one. Luckily- Trisha spotted the gold. I had the capture the moment :) So bad for you.. but oh so good...

And to finish off- other pictures of our trip. Thank you friends for such a great time- We love you guys! :)

All bundled up :) Nice and snug

Chicago looks fun!
It is great when babies do well on airplanes. I can speak from experience having a screaming baby and a snotty older lady staring at you the whole time as if I'm supposed to put a sock in his mouth. I ended up yelling at her! :)

Your memory really was preatty bad. Silly girl, you didn't have Jayden in the last one. Ü (Yes, I do think I'm funny...)

I'm glad you had such a good time in Chicago and glad you finally got your funnel cake. Woohoo!
