My First Kiss

Everyone has a "story" about their first kiss. Mine is not that great of a story... but it was my "first" kiss so it holds importance.
When I was a freshman in high school I wrote a four page paper on "My First Kiss". And I used the first three pages to set up the scene. Don't worry- Im not going to do that this time. :)

I had just turned 15 years old. His name was Samuel. My parents adopted an 18 y/o Mexican when I was 15. From these memory posts you may notice I had a few relationships with Latinos who didn't speak English. You may wonder how this came to be... it was because of Antonio the Latino my parents adopted. He had a lot of friends and since I was a flirtatious "gringa" it wasn't a great combo :)

Anyway- back to my story.

I was hanging out with Antonio and one of his friends. We went to McDonalds and ran into some more of Antonio's friends. One of them being Samuel, my first kiss. He invited them over for dinner and they accepted. I really liked Samuel because he kept giving me the "I like you" look. And hey- that's all it took :)
I didn't speak Spanish at the time. He didn't speak English. No problemo. My mom translated for us. ... To this day it still doesn't make sense.

A few weeks after we met Antonio was driving Samuel and his sister back to their house. Samuel and I were in the backseat (on comes the seductive music). Samuel asked me a question that I didn't understand. I told him I didn't understand his question. So he asked again. I was still pulling a blank. Finally he kissed me on the cheek and looked for a reaction. I probably smiled- so he kissed me on the lips.

I look back on it now and shake my head thinking "Bummer he was my first kiss". BUT if it weren't for good ol Samuel I would not have become fluent in Spanish. And at the time- I was on cloud nine.

That is fantastic. Your mom translated? Seriously? I bet your conversations were drastically different from mine....or maybe you just thought they were because your mom is a great sensor.....

Besito besito mi amor. Cuando me besas me sientas un fuego en mi carazon.
That is hilarious!!!
Jayden is such a cutie. I bet you don't give him any attention do you? Now he is the one that gets lots of besitos.

I didn't know that's why you learned Spanish. That's an awesome reason! Ü
